LESSON 8: BACKLINKS
A backlink is a link one website gets from another website. Backlinks make a huge impact on a website’s prominence in search engine results. This is why they are considered very useful for improving a website’s SEO ranking.
Input backlinks in your articles is a very effective way to give more value to your contents or articles on your website or blog and rank your contents higher.
The main reason for using backlinks into your articles is to link your article from another website to your website. This means the links are to direct people from another website page to your website that contains further information about what the link indicates.
For example if you have an article about latest cars on your blog, if there is a link from another website that also talks about cars then mentions your blog as a place where people can get more information about cars and links people to your blog, that is BACKLINKING.
You will receive traffic from that website because the website is referring people to your blog as a more relevant place to learn more about cars.
Having links from other websites that are relevant to your website niche can skyrocket your ranks on Google. This is why it is very important to have very useful and helpful contents on your website. Because backlinks can come naturally from other relevant websites in your niche, this happens when your content is so detailed and helpful, people tend to refer other people to your website or blog because your contents shows how valuable and helpful it is to anyone who needs help or answers.
How backlinking works with search engines
Backlinks are links that are actually included in the contents of a website or blog post which directs traffic to another blog post, content or website.
This means if a backlink directs people from blog post-A to blog post-B then blog post-B will be ranked higher on Google search engine and because Google has recognized the blog-B to be more of a value than blog- A.
*Here is the ugly truth about Backlinks:*
It is not easy to get.
To combat this issue you must learn how to get the most out of every backlink.
Here’s how you can accomplish that goal:
- You must have a technically optimized site
- You must have a strong back linking strategy
- You must have valuable content on your website
- And you must try to manually create your own backlinks.
Backlinks can generate more traffic, clicks and page visits to your blog/website and the more your articles can be connected from different websites with the similar relevance, the more page authority your blog will become.
You can create backlinks by out sourcing from other people.
Here are some methods
1. Backlinking exchange:
This is when you find and contact other blogs or websites of similar niche and try to exchange back links to each other’s site.
How this works is you back link contents of different topics that won’t competition for ranking from either of you.
Sometime it may even be a one way thing. You may exchange backlinks for other things that will be of interest.
2. Backlinking with the help of PR or Freelancers:
This is when you pay someone to do all the hard work of backlinking your site for you. It may work to an extent. Some freelancers can get 100 backlinks for a cheap prices.
You can check Fiverr for backlinks.

Backlinks and a content creation tool
Based on backlinks talked about earlier today, I want to add that;
if you have multiple websites or social media platforms, you can link them to your blog. You can get higher rankings with your blog posts on the search engine and this can give you more organic traffic.
The more pages you link up to a particular page the more the page gets ranked higher for its recommendation and value. The more activity on a blog post the more traffic you get.
This is how to get more followers and visitors to your website.
All this website or blog buildup is for you to have an everlasting traffic generator. Because traffic is money. So all we have been talking about so far is for you to have a website that can always generate traffic even when you sleep, and when your site generates traffic then you can monetize such a site and that becomes passive income.
Do not be overwhelmed, know your stakes, List all the things you have to do.
If you can’t do the entire technical website build up, then give the job to someone who can, This will save you a lot of time and energy. Don’t waste your time trying to do everything. It’s not easy. If you think you can they go ahead.
And its time consuming. Even the task I am giving you guys wasn’t done by many of you. That is why I am trying to even make everything in this lessons brief.
Outbounds links are links that direct people from your website to other websites. Its also a type of backlink, only its sending people from your website to other websites.
You can use outbound links to do a backlink exchange with an external website. So both of you can exchange links and use them as outbound links in your blog content.
Inbound links is the same thing as backlinks. Simple.
Images copied from a website to be used on your website or blog can have an embedded link in it.
This means you are using an outbound link in form of an image on your website, and you are indirectly ranking another website higher than yours.
Most people don’t know this.
They just copy images from somewhere on the internet and paste it on there blog. Not knowing they are ranking other websites. I also do it.
The best way to use an image without using them as outbound links is to use non stock photos or re-design images. or you can also embed your own website link and use it on your website.
Not all images you find on the internet are embedded with links but you can try not to copy images from other websites directly. You can use a website called pexels to download high quality and free images.
You can also search for free stock photos and use the best images you can find for your website.
You can also try free images from stock photos websites and use them without violating copyright.
Google photos also help indicate images that are not copyright.
Embedding your own website link is also a very good way to prevent unnecessary outbount links on your blog.
I use canva.com for all my images. Both editing and Even embedding my website links to the image.
Like I said back linking is not an easy task and it builds up gradually. But if you want to make things faster and easier you can use the tool. Besides its not really for starters.
As a starter that might be low on budget, focussing on great content creation is the best a start.
Backlinks can be focused on much later in growing your blog rankings. but you have to have the knowledge. And use it in your website for better improvement.
Ok, i know you guys have been looking forward to tools that can help you with content creation.
